Ch.2 "Questions of culture and Ideology"

Ideology as a misrecognition of real conditions of existence is false.Ideology is involved in the reproduction of social formations and their relations of power. During class we watched a couple scenes from the the movie "Music Man". In the scenes we see him arrive in a small town looking for ways to make him rich. The music man created a false problem to benefit for himself. In order to "sell" something there has to be a need for it in the community. Therefore, the music man created the need for it by creating a problem. It proves just how gullible and how easily influenced people are in society. This relates to modern day society because the same thing he did in the movie big companys do to get you to buy their product. Culture can dominate us or liverate us, it's up to you on how you choose it to affect you.
